Don't blame you there. I'm probably going to play a bit of Wolf3D later today. I really don't enjoy Doom II as much as the first one, so I'm having trouble convincing myself to go back to it.

I almost wanna try out that BFG edition. Kind of hard to convince myself though as I played the hell out of doom and doom2 back when and just recently raped doom 3 so I dunno.

I wish I had a comp that could play Doom 3. I love the first one, and the second one is a fun gorefest

I had to run it at almost the lowest possible to run it.

One of the reasons why I'd like to try it out for PS3. Graphics whore and such

I haven't played Doom 3 yet, but Doom/Doom II are nothing special in this edition, with the exception of co-op. They add more enemies in places, but not being able to die turns it from an "oh fuck there are so many enemies" to "holy shit look at all the enemies HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

I killed a Cyberdemon with a pistol, simply because I could.

You can't die I was wondering how you did that shit on ultra violence.

So they didn't enhance 1 or 2 along the line of j or z-doom? Bummer. May as well just grab em for pc if I ever feel like running around in them.

    But still....

    Is it cheap?

Real men Punch it to death. On Nightmare.
Didn't they also add a pseudo-3Dish mode to those in BFG?

Just in co-op you can't die. You also can't earn any trophies in co-op, so there's that.

I always play through Doom on Ultra-Violence. I feel like I'm cheating if I don't. It's really not that difficult once you grab all your weapons. Also, saving. I died quite a few times, but I just loaded up an old save rather than attempting the level starting with a pistol.

And no, there are no enhancements. I don't know how much it costs right now, but I saw it on sale for $20 a couple weeks ago. This was during Boxing Week, though, so I'm not sure if that was just the price or if it was a Boxing Week special for cheap. I'm absolutely loving it, but I also lost a couple keys on my keyboard (don't ask ) which makes playing Doom on my laptop a little frustrating.

A worthwhile purchase if you can grab it for cheap. There really is a lot of game here. All four Doom 1 episodes, Doom II has the XBLA episode that was released when they put it up a couple years ago, Doom 3 has multiplayer and both expansions.

I'll see what I get for birthday and maybe pick it up if it's 20. There are some things that I want though that are relatively new and may cost a bit like Hitman and Farcry 3. Also still need to get RE5 (I don't know why I want to play it so bad I couldn't stand it when I first got it on the 360 but it grew on me) amongst others like New Vegas goty

I'm kinda kicking myself for the Jak trilogy. After the first game I just got Jakked out I guess.

If you can find it for $20, I would recommend it. Given how it's pretty much all rehashed content, though, I wouldn't pay much more than that. You could probably get it all on PC for cheaper. If you're looking for the biggest bang for your buck, I would recommend FO:NV Ultimate Edition out of all of them. Between the main game and all the DLC, I would imagine there's a good 150 hours of gameplay there, easily.

I also had the same reaction to the Jak trilogy. I loved the first game. Then I played through the second game and it was kind of... meh. Okay, I guess, but getting pretty repetitive. Then I started the third and just stopped playing and went onto something else. One day I'll go back to it, same with a bunch of other games I just couldn't stomach anymore. Too much of one type of game usually turns me off after a while.
