Default Sony shuts down Studio Liverpool (Psygnosis)

So yeah, Sony have shut down Studio Liverpool, who were Psygnosis. Sad news.

“Liverpool Studio has been an important part of SCE Worldwide Studios since the outset of PlayStation, and have contributed greatly to PlayStation over the years. Everyone connected with Liverpool Studio, past and present, can be very proud of their achievements.

"However, it was felt that by focusing our investment plans on other Studios that are currently working on exciting new projects, we would be in a stronger position to offer the best possible content for our consumers.”

    RIP!

Indeed. They hold a lot of nostalgic value for me.

Mainly for Wipeout and Destruction Derby, and their big ass owl logo that would appear on a lot of Amiga games they were involved with.

Aww, that little owl logo was a big part of my childhood. Always a shame to hear about an old stalwart going down.

Yeah, I don't think I've played anything they've actually developed, but they did publish some of my childhood favorites. Loved the owl logo as well.

    Someone, hold me please.
    I'm going to cry.

    This is just so sad.
I don't see why publishers buy a studio, only to close them.
    I'll miss that owl.
