Just post a really awesome quote you find inspiring, awesome, whatever.

"There are only two things that are infinite, the universe and human stupidity-and I'm not so sure about the universe."
    -Albert Einstein

    Very insightful.

"If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it too." Dorothy Parker
These are two of my favorite writers and their bon mots.

Don't underestimate the value of doing nothing. Of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit.
"No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."

"Pooh, promise me you won't forget about me, ever. Not even when I'm a hundred."
Pooh thought for a little. "How old shall I be then?"
    "Ninety-nine."
Pooh nodded. "I promise," he said.

When thinking up a response to this thread, I really didn't want to include anything that anyone could get simply by Googling "favorite/best/inspiring quotes" or whatever.
So I ended up with a bunch of semi-obscure movie references.

Especially young boys, like once they get in a room together, it's like who's more powerful kind of stuff, you know, like who has the most pubic hairs or whatever. I never liked those kind of interactions.

All through those years I didn't have all that much luck connecting with people in real life: these assholes over here make fun of me, and these other people over here just think I'm kind of weird, and wanna have distance, and maybe a couple people like me and get me but we're all rejects...

If I could be disembodied and just have my intellect connect directly with other people through typing power, then wouldn't that be Utopia?
I really wanted to include something from Indie Game: The Movie, but I found myself basically quoting the whole movie. So I stopped after the very first bit of opening dialogue and called it good.

Part of it is about not trying to be professional. Like a lot of people come into indie games trying to be like a big company; what those game companies do is create highly polished things that serve as large of an audience as possible. The way that you do that is by filling off all of the bumps on something; if there's a sharp corner, you make sure that's not going to hurt anybody if they bump into it or whatever.
That creation of this highly-polished, commercial product, is the opposite of making something personal... Things that are personal have flaws, they have vulnerabilities. If you don't see a vulnerability in somebody, you're probably not relating with them on a very personal level, so it's the same with a game design.
Making it was about, let me take my deepest flaws and vulnerabilities, and put them in the game... and let's see what happens.

Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' And I'll whisper 'no'.

Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
~Alfred Pennyworth, "Batman: The Dark Knight"

These are the ones I have listed on my Facebook. I have plenty more that I like, but these are some of my favorites!

The majority of them are from movies/games, but a few are from real people.

There are so, so many great Father Ted moments, but I think this has to be my favourite:

Here's another fun one from the Dr. (Seuss) himself:

"Do not be sad the party ended, be happy it happened."

A little overly optimistic, but quite inspiring

Do quotes from EP members count?
(if they do, I am thinking about two of them right now. )

"The hierarchy goes like TRS > TRS > TRS" - TheRealSpiders... a.k.a.... TRS?

    "That is all" - guess...

“Far better it is to have a stout heart always and suffer one’s share of evils, than to be ever fearing what may happen." -Herodotus

"Knowing just a little bit about everything gives you a serious advantage in conversation, especially when talking to strangers. Find a little bit of common ground, and you’ll find an ally."

I have no idea where I heard that second one, but it's been part of my creed for a very long time now.

A quote from Calvin and Hobbes:
"A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day."

A great cartoon strip that ended horribly into obscurity.
