Default Dont know what to do.

Hey there guys. A few months like back to january, i had a PS3 (I was always my entire life Playstation Guy) plus a bunch of games, i was a trophy hunter on ps3 got like 10 platinums or so. One day all of the sudden i lost that mood of playing dunno why, I got frusturated with the Ps3 and I tought the problem was of the Ps3, so I sold it with all my games. Bought a Xbox 360 got satisfied like 2 weeks and sold it again, and changed to a gaming PC. I like my gaming PC but I kinda miss PS3 Exclusives and some ppl of the PS3. I dont know whats my problem its the first time that this happen to me. Lately i feel confuse which System to play or game to play. When I play online its even worst, i rage for even the smallest thing. Has this ever to any of you guys? I really dont know what to do. Thanks in Advance.

My current PC specs is :

Processor : AMD Six Core FX 6100 3.30Ghz
    RAM : 10GB
Graphic Card : Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Ti

Why have one when you can have three? (I.e., save up for them). Also xanax.
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

The Xanax thing is funny but...to the OP, something like that might actually be useful. Not saying you have mental problems. We all get dissatisfied with things we used to love. But if it starts happening a lot and with stuff other than just games for you, talking to a doctor might actually be a good thing! I know I lost interest in games, movies, and all my hobbies around when I first got depressed. The right (doctor prescribed!!!!!!) medicine helps big time. I could be sounding REALLY stupid right now going on about medical/psychological stuff since I don't know your situation besides what you've said. Does this confusion regarding soemthing that used to be a simple choice affect you in other ways? If so give it some thought. Gaming should be easy and fun not a brainfuck. I hope you find a way to get back to that fun you had before.

This is so complicated, i mean i wish Games nowdays were like it was on PSX, PS2 time. So much awesome games, now the games you dont really enjoy, maybe its just me i dont know. I get bored and frusturated so easily with the recent games and I wasnt like this before, all of the sudden im not in the mood to play games or even maybe i lost the interest in games (Which i dont want to happen cause i always loved games).

And SpuzzHardwick, i really appreciate ur reply, but i really dont know whats happening. I mean i dont feel depressed at all, i just feel that I want to play a Game but when I really think i wanna play it i get bored of it its kinda strange . . .

That is what i've been going through all summer, i get a game, or dl a new one, play it for a couple hours and it goes into the discard pile.

My attention/enthusiasm issues have even extended to older games.

Luckily if modern games seem to be the problem, this forum is a community of people who love older retro games and could easily recommend you some similar to the ones that used to bring you that joy you described. If you want any recommendations just look around at some of the threads and see what people are talking about or playing. Or just ask. Maybe it's not you after all. Maybe new games just don't suck you in like old ones did. I know the feeling. I don't hate on new stuff since technology is doing amazing stuff but games do seem to be losing that magic they used to have aren't they? Anyway, once again, hope you find a game that fixes this problem.

Me too. It could be that today games are not as good as back then and that is why you "lost" the interest.
Beside, as peoples getting matured, they're tend to lose the interest to play video games.

I've been really off and on as well the last several years. I have both the PS3 and 360, plus a decent enough PC to play most games, but I've really lost interest in a lot of stuff out there. There have been times in the last 5 years that I've literally gone several months without playing anything at all and not because I was so busy with life and work, but just because no games really hold my attention. Someone posted that they get a game off XBl or something, play it for a few hours and then shit can it. I've been doing the same thing. I picked up Fez and Minecraft not long ago and they both only got a few hours of play before I've all but forgotten them.

Aside from that, this generation has been littered with sequels and it's really annoying. Mass Effect, Skyrim, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Uncharted, etc.... the first games in these series were great and groundbreaking, but the sequels just get worse. This has been one of the worst periods in gaming if you ask me because creativity has pretty much been thrown out the window. You just need to find those hidden gems because they do exist and they are worth your time. Examples; if you like strategy games, you must play Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. You want a great action game, check out Bayonetta. You want something like Grand Theft Auto and Shen Mue, check out Yakuza 3. If you want the closest thing to a Final Fantasy game (JRPG), check out Lost Odyssey.

In summation, there are good games out there, but all in all, this generation has more shit than anything, and I really blame it on the Publishers i.e. Activision, EA, etc. They pump millions into games and milk every franchise until they totally suck.

Good luck with your gaming, hope this helped a bit.

Oh and one more thing for the road.... Sometimes it helps if you watch some of those gaming movies that are out there. And no, I don't mean movies based on games... I'm talking about stuff like King of Kong, Chasing Ghost, Rockafire Explosion, or Special When Lit. After seeing Special When Lit (history of Pinball), it totally got me into pinball games and made me appreciate something I only really had a passing knowledge of and I started tracking down great compilation discs like the Williams Arcade Collection, etc. I know that's no real replacement for a real machine, but I also don't have $3000 to drop on a high maintenance machine either. But what I'm getting at is those movies may make you discover something you may have missed.

And yet again, nostalgia strikes back...

I'm afraid no doctor has a cure for sudden attacks of nostalgia.
But I'll say 3 things: games weren't better back then, you aren't playing the right games for you and, finally, don't play new games just cos other people/your friends are playing them, play the ones you feel like playing, the ones you enjoyed playing, no matter how old they are.
