I was thanked 3 times in 2 posts... I don't know by who or why lol, so how can I know who thanked me, and on which thread?

Top right portion of the page, there should be a link called "Settings" (or just follow this link). On that page you should see a list of reputation points given, as well as who gave them to you. Any one of those that says "Thanked post" is a post where someone pushed the "Thanks" button on your particular post. Each entry on your reputation list should be hyperlinked to the post where you received the rep/thanks, and at the bottom of each post displays which users "Thanked" that post.
You might not be able to see all of them, but the list usually shows the latest 15 entries of reputation/thanks given.
Awesome! Although now I'm confused about why the thank button doesn't always appear at the bottom of either of your current posts.
The "Thanks" button is disabled in the Free for All and Hangout subforums, I believe, and reserved mostly for the help sections.
Edit: I've moved the thread now, so you should be able to see that little button now.
You also can't thank your own posts, there's good reason for that of course
My inbox IS NOT A REQUEST BOX , if you want to make requests maybe do it here? Someone w/ working links might help you there (I don't do requests obviously, however, feel free to let me know if a DLC file doesn't work* and needs an update ) *ex:"container error"
How to use DLC files? Use Jdownloader
Still looking for PS2 undubs by any chance? Try searching "PS2 undub project 2.6" @ google, it's hard to miss and you can maybe find most of em in a single search/post .
"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"
Certainly that particular instance would be stupid. But there's plenty of opportunity for constructive posts worthy of thanks in General Gaming, take the 'Forgot the Name of the Game' thread for instance
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
Very true. Just as an example though, I find it strange that a thread dedicated to listing games you've beaten (this and the fact that said thread is stickied) has the option enabled at all.
This is what's bothering me;
This isn't the only example of this either, just one of the more obvious ones. I'm assuming there's no option to enable or disable the Thanks feature in particular threads? I'm sure it must sound like I'm merely nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking, but honestly, am I the only one who sees something wrong here?

No, you aren't the only one. But it can't be configured to only work on particular threads, so what are we gonna do
