    ReviveDC Project Presents…
Super Puzzle Fighter II X English Translation

A bit of a last minute/surprise release for our Month of Street Fighter. This is Super Puzzle Fighter II X For Matching Service. We used a GDI for the source, cracked and translated ourselves, meaning this is by far the best version of Super Puzzle Fighter II X yet. Using the GDI let us get the sort order, making this a perfect release and then some since menus are in English.

    Power Stone (NTSC-U)

POWAAAAAH STOOONE! Christmas time always makes me nostalgic so here's another Dreamcast classic. This is an excellent fast paced 3D fighter that is always fun with friends. It's definitely the Dreamcast equivalent of Super Smash Bros., but it's so much better than that. It's a simple game that's fast to learn, so this will be a great game to show friends who are always wondering exactly why that Dreamcast is still occupying a spot under your TV.

The House of the Dead 2 (NTSC-U)

Please, don't come! It's the classic sexually awkward light gun shooter, The House of the Dead 2. Zombies are all the rage, so what the hell. Just a heads up if you have any kind of LCD/LED TV or a high definition TV: if you buy lightguns to use with that TV, they will NOT work. It has nothing to do with the rip. It has everything to do with how lightguns function. You're going to have to drag out an old CRT screen to play this effectively. The game is actually still pretty fun with a standard controller though. Either way, that's what she said. I'd like to think that's the first usage of that in an NFO even if it is old, lame and not too funny at this point in time.

    Dynamite Cop! (NTSC-U)

Dynamite Cop! is an arcade beat 'em up, which is technically sort of a sequel to Die Hard Arcade. In Japan the game is known as Dynamite Deka, but when it was released in the states it was done with the Die Hard license. So if you're familiar with Die Hard Arcade, then this game is for you. If you're unfamiliar and are just intrigued by seeing Die Hard then you should probably just turn away now, because this game is completely over the top and ridiculous. I'm pretty sure that while I was playing one time I beat somebody up with a turkey. This is a great game for multiplayer and it's great for some mindless fun even if nobody else is around.

Evolution: World of the Sacred Device (NTSC-U)

We were going to take a little break but goddamn if all hell just didn't break loose. First off, fuck you to Ripfire for stealing our NFO. How is anyone going to trust your releases? You're so lazy that you didn't change the text stating that the games have custom IP.BINs and include artwork. Your shit doesn't have either of those things. Only RDC does.

Second, give credit where credit is due. HyKan used ReviveDC's GDI of Sekai Fushigi Hakken Troia for his release. fatman01923 shelled out the cash for that, so seriously; credit him or ReviveDC.

Anyways, since stupidity and douchebaggery reigns without us we're going to pick up the pace on the releases. We have a hell of a backlog to catch up on, so we'll try to go above and beyond our typical three games a week. Some of you might have noticed a contemplation of not doing artwork anymore. Thank Ripfire for a reversal on that decision.

Here's Evolution: World of the Sacred Device. This is a decent RPG game, but it might be a bit too cute for some. Nothing has been ripped or downsampled, you know the drill.

    ReviveDC Project Presents…
    Virtua Fighter 3tb (NTSC-U)

So, this is coming out on a.. not exactly normal release day, just because I've been swamped with finals and it has been my fault that games haven't been coming out. These two were originally supposed release the Tuesday after the 99 minute version of Sonic Adventure Limited Edition came out, which would've been three games for that week. Hopefully there will be three games out this upcoming Tuesday as well, so that should get things back on track.

Anyways, this is Virtua Fighter 3tb, a game which came was slated to be a launch title for the Dreamcast in the US, but was delayed until slightly after. This is odd considering the date in the 1ST_READ seems to be August 20th… This port is slightly controversial in its quality, and it added a team battle mode as well as some interesting things like a first person view. It's pretty standard fare for Virtua Fighter gameplay-wise, and I think most will enjoy the title. There's a big video on the disc that acts as sort of an overview for all of the characters that is kind of interesting, but not too worth a watch. Enjoy!

    Evolution 2: Far Off Promise

So this is just a follow up to the other Evolution game we did a while back. Just as with most our games nothing is missing and everything is there in the standard GD-ROM layout just like the official disc. Tweaked the file order to lessen seek times and added a nice dummy file as usually to bring you the perfect rip of this game. It's all there in the same ReviveDC fashion you have come to know and grown to love. Taken from my own GD-ROM and compared to TOSEC database to ensure no corrupted files and scanned with CDMage just to double check the integrity. So enjoy this nice little RPG from the small offerings the Dreamcast had to offer till the next round of games.

Fighting Vipers 2 Beta v1.000 (PAL)

Here's a repack of the Fighting Vipers 2 BETA. This comes from a PAL white label beta disc that came into our possession. This is a 1:1 image of the disk and is also optimized. This repack removes the ECM compression which has caused some headaches judging by some truly delightful comments we've received. This repack also amends the covers which were left out of the prior release. The covers are also tweaked from the originals, which were available for download elsewhere. Enjoy!

    ReviveDC Project Presents…
    Metal Slug 2 (NEO4ALL RC4)

Finally all of these early releases will be updated to NEO4ALL RC4 and there won't be much to worry about. Here's Metal Slug 2, and while it doesn't carry the "Overclocked Edition" branding anymore, atreyu187's overclock is still applied to this release, so it will still run better than others that are floating around out there. Metal Slug 2 is never really going to be perfect though; it runs like shit on actual Neo Geo hardware, so I don't know what you're looking for here. If this game just isn't doing it speedwise, check out our Metal Slug X release and burn the no sound version. That's probably as good as Metal Slug 2 will ever get on Dreamcast. Have fun.

    Last Resort (NEO4ALL RC4)

Here we go with a title much deserving of a repack finally with Chui's latest ofering of NEO4ALL. Gameplay is spot on and no slow downs from what I can see. Image was built properly with TOSEC verified data to ensure non-corrupted files. I have also built the image correctly to ensure CDDA is not only intact but playing perfectly. Enjoy this nice little repack and break out your Agetec or ASCII sticks and get ready for some intense SHMUP fun to tide you over till next week as we have a huge back catelouge of games we need to get out so more can come your way. Once our 50th release is here they should all come smoothly and quickly. Happy gaming DC fanatics, as always optimized, 1:1, full CDDA, and stand alone with custom splash/covers.

    ReviveDC Project Presents…
    Ghost Pilots (NEO4ALL RC4)

The infamous Shit Pilots. That's literally all I have to say. Have some wiki:

Ghost Pilots is a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game released in 1991 by SNK.

The gameplay is straightforward with elements similar to that of Capcom's 19XX games, but it is incredibly difficult even on the easiest difficulty level. Unlike most scrolling shooters, the vehicle is a seaplane instead of spaceship or airplane. As the in-game instructions indicate, move the joystick around to maneuver the seaplane. Press the A Button to fire bullets. The player can also hold the A button for a semi-automatic fire. Press the B Button to launch bombs from the inventory. The player starts with three bombs.

    ReviveDC Project Presents…
    Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy (NEO4ALL RC4)

Top Hunter was one of our first 10 games that I really hadn't heard of before, and I ended up enjoying it a lot. It's a very interesting game; it's a side scroller, but there's a foreground and background. That's not the only somewhat uncommon thing going on though. Your character can perform special moves in the same way they would be done in Street Fighter or KOF. A quarter circle motion results in a fireball, and that weird zig zag motion results in a shoryuken, just like you'd expect. This is a very fun game, and it really wouldn't be odd to see a game just like it come out today from an indie developer. It's definitely a love letter to 90s platformers, so check it out.

Vampire Chronicle For Matching Service (NTSC-J) (80 and 99 minute versions)

Alright, we're back after a short break after release 100 and we've got a nice treat for everyone. It's Vampire Chronicle For Matching Service, a game that had previously only been cracked by Echelon. If you're not familiar with that release, it doesn't load terribly well since it's not optimized at all and the game did have a unique sort order to it. So the unique sort is maintained across the two data sessions, with audio and video moved to the outer edge. This version loads much faster than Echelon's and it will work on RGB without being patched. We've taken the liberty of cooking up 80 and 99 minute versions of the game. It really is a massive game, being a combination of all of the games in the Darkstalkers series. The game includes all of the characters from the different games, and you're able to choose which game's play style and move set you'd like to use, meaning there's a lot of combinations here.

    Read the ReviveDC Review

    80 Minute Version:
In order to fit the game to an 80 minute disc, the audio was cut to 22khz stereo and the videos were downsampled pretty heavily, but we did use a VBR format. The videos had kind of an excessive bitrate to begin with, and they were ugly anyways. It would have been nice to be able to go with a better quality than Echelon on the media, but the game is simply too big. As stated earlier, it loads MUCH faster though, so you won't be disappointed. The 80 minute version is very playable for those of us without 99 minute discs. The music is synthesized since it's a CPS2 game, so it doesn't really sound much worse and the videos are only an introductory video. There were more on the disc, but I honestly have never seen them come up anywhere in the game.

    99 Minute Version:
Alright, the 99 minute version still doesn't fit without downsampling. That's how monster this game is. In this 99 minute version, the audio is untouched. The videos are still downsampled some, but not to the extent of the 80 minute version.

    WWF Royal Rumble (NTSC-U)

So here we are another week and another wrestling game. As you guessed it like SHMUPS and Beat'em Ups this is my next favorite genre. I will have the other WWF game ready next week but this and the two ECW games should keep you all happy as well as snarky finally being the first besides Echelon to crack the great game that is Vampire Chronicle. If you haven't tried the Saturn versions this is your time to catch the whole trilogy in update GFX in 80 and 99min flavors.

Anyhow about this game, you are pit against nine of the WWF's best wrestlers in one ring at a time to see who is the last man standing. A total of 20 of the best stars are all here at your disposal with signature moves to pumel your the rest of the wrestlers against you all trying to be King of the Ring!! So lets get ready to rumble!!!

As usual we have kept all audio and video intact with the original GD-ROM layout and sort order. Keeping the same LBA of 45000 making this as close to GD-ROM as you will ever find. So have fun and get ready next week I will be releasing WWF Attitude so hone these grappling skills and get ready for some more in your face action!!!
