Can someone help teach me how to make/work with my own blog?

I'm looking to make my own blog, but I have no clue where to start. I simply want it for personal entries. Some works of writings, mostly short stories and poetry. I also want a journal like page, where I can reiterate daily things I observe and such, much like a journal. I guess this is just known as a personal blog.

If anyone has experience with blogs, please let me know! I've tried to start my own on wordpress and such, but I am honestly lost on where to start, how to organize the page into a simple layout and such. I'm willing to go through existing blogs to give solid examples of what I'm trying to achieve.

Well, blogspot has pretty decent customization. If you want different subsections for a journal, poems etc, try that.
I had one before I started uploading to EP.

Thanks Jazz. I think I'll get started on it, and if I get stuck or confused I'll come here. I probably will occasionally.

Oh, I already know what I want to put it in it Skull. I just need help with the overall customization and "how to" part of designing pages. Think of it like a step up from Myspace layout designing. Like a REALLY big step up roflmao.
