True story. I wanted to like it, but HBO sucks.

That seems kinda harsh. What, George R.R. Martin raped you as child or something?

As for my serious response: I think Martin is a boring author.

They don't take my straightforward opinions very well .

I'm hoping there will be a non-3D version, I can't stand 3-D movies and they give me a headache.

Ditto. But apparently Jackson has issues with 3D crap too, it's why he's made some effort to fix the format. Umm, link:

Also, that link mentions that it'll see a 2D release too
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I definitely look forward to this film adaptation. I was a fan of his previous works, even before LOTR, and I'm confident that the Hobbit's film adaptation is in good hands.

The only thing that kind of bums me out is that likely possibility that I have to wait until a DVD or Blu-Ray release to see any sort of director's cut or deleted scenes.

I liked the Lord of the Rings movies, one of the best movie series based on books that weren't ruined. Im going to have to reread the hobbit between now and december, most likely closer to december though.

Some would argue that Peter Jackson is a monster but I actually favoured the cuts and changes that he did for the most part.

I'd personally love to see a movie about the war of wrath (and all that jazz) but I don't think it will happen for numerous reasons.
