Default Do you listen Lossless music?

This forum is a gaming forum so I can create a honest debate & discussion thread about this. On most music forums, people worship lossless music like god. To be honest I tried listening to a lossless song and a 320kbps version and I couldn't tell the different. Yes I used a Sennheiser headphone so couldn't blame the headphone. I think most of people listen to lossless music just because it's a trend. Most people can't tell the different except the 'audiophiles'. What do you think people? Is lossless really pure music or just a phony trend?

They are songs that are saved with raw quality. Unlike the mp3 which is compressed music. So they said lossless songs is closer to the original of the quality of CD.

I don't mind mp3's. I can see how someone might prefer the authenticity of a raw track, but like you said: it's probably more of a bandwagon kind of thing.

If I had decent speakers I might. The few times I've listened to lossless tracks I haven't noticed any difference between the two tracks, and therefore don't want to waste the storage space.

Yeah, I can notice the difference between FLAC and high bitrate mp3 with one pair of speakers I have (Richter's).
It really depends on what it is you're listening to I guess......and if you have half decent speakers.

Same can be said about Dolby Digital and DTS imo.

I haven't used headphones for a while, but high bitrate mp3 is ok in that situation.

    Spoiler warning:

lossless music is a complete waste of space. It's really difficult to find the difference between a mp3 and a lossless song. I can't notice the difference.

I can notice a difference in the bass, brah. Is it worth the extra space? Not really, but is great for those few songs you want to have mindgasms over.

I converted all my songs in mp3's following settings to save my storage space.
    128 KB/s
    44100 HZ
I have only 250GB of Hard Drive.
I think lossless music is only a trend.
I know some people who don't understand the difference but still listens to it because they are rich, have big storage spaces and want to show off.

Self explanatory. Cymbals alone have a great improvement past 128kbps. It's after the 320 mark people are asking if they hear a difference.
