What would you recommend for a projector.

I am looking for a projector that is great for gaming, or movies/tv. I've never bought one and don't know what to look for, but would like to keep it at $500 or less.

If you aren't planning on using the projector for current gen. systems or a blu-ray player, you could get away with something cheaper.
