Anyone have issues using pad2 as player 2 on this emu

I can't get any key presses to work at all on pad 2 in NeoGenesis v25

Well I seem to be able to use the right thumb stick button to work to get to the main menu but that is it, once there no other button press work and if I try and config it the emulator recognises no presses

pad 1 is recognised just fine

I know it's not the pad as it works in the main menu of my xbox (not the emu though)
