Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.
Smash Bros for the 64 was a lot of fun for its time, but it aged really, really badly.

It is awesome because it never had much media coverage and then bam it became a classic beat em up, also it had a single player mode that made sense and not just beat one guy/girl up then onto the next because this one gave you a score on the way you fought the opponent for example if you just defeated the opponent with just one button bashing or took them out with a variety of moves, so overall I say it was freaking awesome.
Well, I personally had a lot of fun with it playing with my siblings.
The game feels really different from the normal fighting games etc. and I just love the
fact that you gradually start throwing your rivals through the air more and more farther.
It is a total madness, and I played with 4 human players once.
I still take severe beatings from my younger brother now and then...
But it has Kirby and Pikachu, which I simply adore.
Although I always (or almost always since we here have the policy
of: "you lose youchange character") take my cute baby Kirby!
(and he packs quite the punch, nevertheless. )
That said, I give Smash Bros. my thumb... up, that is.
I mean, there's no reason to play it now (what with Brawl and Melee as better choices, and cheaper even...), but it was an okay game at the time.
It was great when it came out, and I loved it very much. I fell out of the SSB series after that one though.
Granted there isn't much reason to play it with the new versions out like Gypsy said, but there's still sentimental value for SMB 64 for me. It was the first fighting game that I got really good at and started out as a real beginner to my friends to someone that could really hold up well against them and win once in a while. Call me crazy but sometimes I prefer the sound effects of SMB 64 although I definitely liked the announcer voice best. it's definitely an amazing game to me; without it, I wouldn't have found a fighting game I would be good at.
smash bros 64 is really a good game but not the best out there
Back then it was good but not now..
Buh? Good games are always good, they don't start sucking with time.
good game for a break with friends but else it's overrated
It was fun. But I wouldn't use "amazing" or "overrated" to describe it. Somewhere in between.
It was very enjoyable for me and still is in that nostalgic kinda sense. I'm really looking forward to the one on the 3DS as well as the Wii U version. I just hope they give each character individuality instead of like melee or brawl.
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
