I used the same method that valholy posted http://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?28072 I didn't follow that guide but it is the very same method

P.S. that was linked in the sticky thread Microsoft system guides and it is the safest & easiest method

    Mod projects - XBOX
Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 & 2 - online quests in offline mode packs [COMPLETE]
    [Quest Packs Collection]
GTA San Andreas - Hot Coffee [COMPLETE]
[Mod ready] & [Full ISO ready]
GTA San Andreas - Real Car Names extra content mod [WIP] [Back burner, just won't have the time ]

This is easy all you do is boot ya game and load the save to start the install of the softmod, do the most basic install just to get FTP working, then install the gui of choice, I went for XBMC personly but thats up to you

http://www.aideluxe.com/index.php?ti...staller_Deluxe that looks good.. That is what you are talking about

Find an FTP prog yourself though everyone uses what they are used to... I used to use a few including the filezilla one I think it was called

Other tools I have used in the past are C-Xbox that is both an FTP prog and a ISO/game uploading software with auto patching when needed for when you run xbox games from HDD, though for that I do recomend installing a large sized HDD replacement but things can get a bit tricker there

No need to buy an expensive, almost useless, Action Replay adapter/memory card. Buy one of these, and format a 4GB or smaller usb drive to store the save exploit.

Once your done modding the system, you can use it for a usb mouse, or keyboard, adapter. This comes in handy for FPS ports like Doom, Quake, or even keyboard/mouse navigation in XBMC4Xbox.

Or an even cheaper method (if you already have a spare original xbox controller that's faulty in some way) is to create the cable yourself
Buy a usb extension cable (male to female)......you can get them cheap enough in specials bins at electronics stores, like $1-2........or you may already have a spare around you can sacrifice for the project.

The wiring of official xbox controllers and usb cables is the same.......the colours match up.
The only thing is there is an extra wire (yellow) on the xbox cable (which won't be needed so you can isolate that one).

Cut your old dead controller cable, and cut the usb cable........join them up matching the colours of the wires.

Soldering is recommended, but I guess you may get away with twisting stripped wires together and carefully sealing the joins with insulation tape.
Also tape the joins after soldering (of course)

Male xbox plug for one end of your new adaptor cable, and female usb for the other end
