Default are 1019 Block Gamecube cards still not compatble with wii?

i read on some official nintendo site that the wii has errors reading this size of card and will corrupt data on them (if you can find the original post please link)

so are they still not compatable? i don't remember if it was a software or hardware issue

The 1019 is the genuine 8MB NGC card?
I really had no idea there were issues using this card on the Wii.

I've got two non-genuine 128MB cards that have always worked fine on my Wii

The ones I have work fine and they're much cheaper.

I have loads of different GC cards (went on a rampage when they were on 50p each)
