Can someone tell me how to get games onto an R4 card

I've got the R4i SDHC card which I understand has to be formatted following the instructions that were emailed to me but then what?

What happens when I click on the game I want?

Does the game get downloaded onto the pc then transfered onto the R4 or downloaded straight onto the R4?

How long roughly does each game take to download?

Why are there so many of some games, for example call of duty 4 modern warfare - there is 8 listed with different things in brackets

Ds games generally take 5 mins for me.

Download onto PC then drag and drop into SD card

Just copy the link in the game thread into your browser and it will download

I did that and it ended up in a Winrar file that I couldn't do anything with.

What do the letters and words in brackets after the games mean and why are there so many copies of each game?

I've spent the last two weeks looking through the FAQ's and can't find any answers

Etc.. denote the region of the game. Different copies are there as mirrors or because it's a release from another region, or various other reasons.

So can I use one from any region? Is E for england or is it something else?

Thanks, I read it through twice but that makes no sence to me.
I was told this would be easy but it's really not.
I just wanted to give my son a few ds games for christmas that I can't afford otherwise.
I don't know what else to do now.

you will get a rar file.

Open with winrar or winzip. Will be easy to google and download

Once you have the file from inside the Rar just drag and drop into the card.

And i have to opposite problem, i have all games (coz i play them on my laptop) but cannot get an r4 card hahaha

E = Europe that does include england, but any region is playable the DS itself is region free so yeah you can play any region rom or retail cart

Download your Game
Extract the NDS file from the downloaded file (can be a zip rar or 7z file to start with but all these are compressed files) 7zip can handle all those formats from www.7-zip.org
copy the extracted NDS file over to the micro SD card

but I have a feeling you are missing something

the first thing you need is the flashkit software that should be on the MircoSD before the thing will do anything on a DS/DS Lite

the flashkit software is known as a kernel that you can get from http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp but make sure to check the whole page and make sure you get the correct version

the kernel will or should come with it's own instructions as to the exact location the roms should go on the microSD, I do know the original R4 kit (all the new ones are clones as in they are not related to the original R4) but as I was saying the rom location on the original was in a sub folder called roms, but no idea on the location for the new R4i SDHC kits so check that up via the docs that come with it's kernel

Personly I went for the AceKard2i but I am using that on a 3DS with the latest firmware 3.0.0-5E, my other kit for my DS-Lite is a M3 Real kit but these operate differently from each other and the R4 clones and any other R4s
