What Zaladane wrote is true. Any modern Netbook is close to the performance of a mid-range computer from 2001. You'll be able to play most games from 2004 and below. Of course, it always depends on how advance they get, but in general, you should be able to play any game before 2004.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World was pretty good, if you cap the tech tree before WWI. That one might be a little too much for a Netbook though,

Maybe WarCraft 3 + add on? Armies are small and in some missions you can't build structures but it's 'must play' if you like RTS games. And expansion is challenging, especially last few missions.

You should tell us what the specs of your netbook is.
Star Wars: Empire at War - Gold Pack wll run without any mods on an old P4 @1.6GHz with 1GB Rambus and 64MB video (may even work with 32MB video).

    Spoiler warning:

I tried to install Dragonshard on a newer netbook (late '09) with decent specs and it crashed during installation.

Company of heroes & it's expansion opposing front are both fantastic, although Wehrmact are probably the best army to play as almost making the game a little unbalanced, because of how good the Wehrmact are.

Starcraft, Starcraft BW & Starcraft 2 are all great games, I was just never any good in BW because I never played properly.

I've played star trek armada 2, despite not being a big star trek fan I loved that game, also a low spec game.

Downloading, just cuz I don't feel like buying it right now.
YOu use the Warzone thing to play online with King?
EDIT: Whoops, seems like it's mod stuff only.
So favorited and kept until I buy Kingdoms.

TA:K Pack is original Kingdoms + All patches. The 4.1 patch adds all the Iron Plague content, except the movies.
I just let King connect via my IP.

You're welcome to connect to my IP, if/when we play.
I would like to see how it plays using Warzone though.
