Default Trying to start a rom-dedicated computer

But the first thing I need are roms. It will have plenty of storage, so that's not an issue. I am looking for the most complete rom sets, but since I am new to this, I do not know where to look. Right now I am looking for the older consoles - nes, genesis (and deritives), snes, gameboy, gba, and so on. Can someone link me to the best full torrents for downloading these sets, or point me in the right direction for acquiring them?

by the way, I am a completist, so I am willing to work with US only roms, but prefer all roms

If you are willing to achieve perfection. Then you will need a extremely large amount of time and patience! Please answer questions below to get started!

First, What Torrent Client you have? (Name of the Torrent download you use)
Second, In the event that you can't find a rom via Torrent, are you willing to use direct download or mirrored download? (Non-Torrent Downloads)
Third, Do you have a database? (source of information with a list of every single game for every console and a check list)

Love that people put a PC inside a cabinet, it looks good and it's way cheaper than buying an actual one (Even though I'd get a Metal Slug one).
Yeah, download all Romsets you want and reserve a long time to play all of them.

Roms are easy. The tricky part is "expert system"ing the whole thing to boot up, load, etc. which the current emulators all do better and better all of the time, these days.

If you download whole sets of ROMs, nowadays, you get all these multiple versions of old chips, which in my opinion, are a waste of space (and time), when you should just focus on the real classics, and add to it from there.

If you really want to go true arcade, suggest you use a hidden conn| input to start chosen emulator/chipset, or else program your case buttons to use an expert system with a batch file. much cooler.

As for ROMs....well... start buying chips and copying them for your own use.... you can find bad boards for on the cheap on ebay all week....You can make a LEGAL coin-op for your bar or club with all of the classics on it, if you go that route, for less than a grand....for that old "cool" effect, put the actual chips under glass where folks can see them, to the side of the reflected screen encasement...

    blah blah.

only suggestion is that you look into running from an SSDD with plenty of RAM....

^ Your avatar is top five material, for sure.

Natoir, sorry, but I have nothing to add and no help to give. I wish you the best of luck, though! Many of the conversations here strike me as Mr. Spock speaking with Stephen Hawking, yours included, but I am fascinated to learn...
