Erm... I've heard the term even before MW didn't exist. Who cares about them, the world doesn't revolve around them. Ignore them.

If not used by them, it's used by a bunch of elitist pricks to describe a way of life and to push away people who play "casual" games, which is the saddest thing I have ever heard of.

I've played video games my whole life. Everyone owns an XBOX let's be real here. Not everyone's computer is filled to the brim with emulators, roms, and mmo's but w/e. Everyone eats, but not everyone is a fat pig... same difference really. To be ashamed of it is ludicrous.

Yeah its the same as everything else though you are right there, there's a side to most things that would be considered the "bad side" of it. Football has its hooligans, food has its fat people, and gaming has its microsoft fans boys.

Perhaps erroneously (and humorously), I did not interpret this as blatant fanboyism like everyone else. It was just a rhetorical generalization, similar to "everyone has a TV". If he is part of my demographic (American guy aged 13 to twentysomething) then the apparent majority of people do own 360's. I know very few people who play exclusively on a PS3 or PC, (and Wii even less, but that goes without saying).

It is logically fallacious to single out a group of people for ridicule or ostracization simply for playing videogames when the majority of people own a console.

I started with a Atari and got all the way to my actual PC (dont have either xbox nor PS3) i love playing and thats all that i need to know what people may think its up to them if they ok with it fine if they dont well thats them not me, its like that for everything in the world, if u let what others think affect your choices then the only one lossing is yourself
