Default The "Request a Tutorial" thread. (All other requests have been transfered into here)

I figure we might as well keep all of this in one spot so that we can keep the rest of the forum free for whomever actually makes a tutorial.

This is where you request a tutorial to something that you don't really have the skills to do, or don't understand, or something along those lines. For example:

"could someone please make a tutorial on how to set up an FTP? I am having a lot of trouble and would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!"

There. Ya see? By the by, I think there is an FTP tutorial out there.

    Default sega cd images

hi everyone! i was wondering whether someone could explain to me how to make a working cd out of the sound and iso files for sega cd.

all i've been ablt to do thus far is get the iso to boot up, which has resulted in a small collection of silver coasters on my desk.

    thanks!

    How to rip movies?

My friend recently brought to my house a dvd of Record of the Lodoss War and I wanted to rip the episodes individually and compress them so I could fit them nicely on cds for my later viewing. So if anyone could coach me on which program to use and what settings to use Id be greatly thankful.

P.S. I would like to compress every episode (like 20-25 mins) on to like 200-250 mb so I could burn 3 on every cd and have something that looks near tv quality. THNX in advance.

To record them as a VCD you'll have to have them in the MPEG-1 format, which -- at that length -- will but them at around 235MBs. Standard half-hour shows with the commercials cut out always fit three to a CD.

I'm not sure exactly how to do the ripping of the DVD, but you can check out here:
    http://www.imtoo.com/

They have a product that you can download for free there -- probably for a limited time only -- that is apparently really easy to use to rip DVDs and convert them to VCD MPEG-1 files.
