Tales of Symphonia Dolphin GC freeze
Hello,
I'm a newbie to game emulation. I downloaded Dolphin r7687 for Mac OS X. My first game I picked was Tales of Symphonia because I've heard so many good things about it. It was working fine until I reached a cutscene before I engage in a battle with Botta and his soldiers. On the screen you can see Lloyd backing away from Botta and his 2 soldiers. The game freezes whenever I reach this point and I've tried 3 times because I thought maybe the freeze was a one-time deal.
Please help me. It would be greatly appreciated.

Have you try running it on the official build 3.0?
Also, post the screenshots of your settings.

What do you mean by official build 3.0? I'm new to all this. Sorry if I don't understand certain things.
What settings would you like me to take a screenshot of? Any specific ones you have in mind?

Here, scroll to the Releases section at the bottom, you should find 3.0, download that, and run the game with default settings.
If the problem still persists, try using different Graphic Backend, as well with the lowest Native internal resolutions.

I've had the same problem as DanaeMS, i've tried all different revisions dophin, all different versions of the iso, all different hacks settings and backends and whatnot. I've ven tried it on different computers, but i still cant get past that freeze before the battle with Botta, is there anything else i could possibly do?

Load the game at the nearest point using the actual saves(not savestates) and go through that part again.
It should work on either 2.0 or 3.0 with default settings.

i've been using the actual saves, and tried it on 2.0 and 3.0. I've even restarted the game~like wiped all the save data and tried it over again, there's nothing i can do to get past that part. is it more a problem with the iso, the emulator, or my computer(s)?
