It's a heavily wooded campground. And some of the killing happened near the water's edge (points to earlier image). It can take a while to properly sweep that sort of terrain.

Extreme right wing political beliefs with a severe distaste for all things socialist. Essentially he believe the EU goings on and Norway's left lean meant the impending rise of a new "Soviet Union".

His supposed youtube channel, supposing it's legitimate, adds to this and paints a bit of an interesting picture

I kinda figured as much. Targetting a political parties youth wing typically means hardline political beliefs of some sort and shooting centre-left groups for being insufficiently leftist went out with the RAF and Red Brigades.

92 is the number for both happenings. 85 kids are so far confirmed dead, but there are still kids missing. 7 people died in the explosion. People are still missing in the building that were closest to the bomb. I guess the number of casualties will increase...

Indeed, seeing as some were apparently shot in the water a good bit out, while trying to swim away from the Island. Adding to what Raype added the guy's some sort of insane right-wing racist, going on about us arians betraying our ideals in favour of the sickening multi-culture deal. Before setting off the bomb - I think - he sent out a 700 page manifesto explaining this and, err, more. Aswell as protips on how to become a terrorist. The blaming WoW for going on trips, not working and not answering your phone was, err, cute.

I don't really know what to say. Surely this is the biggest gun massacre ever from a single hitman? And all for his insanity... From reading just a little of his drivel he strikes me as one of those persons who believes everything he reads regarding... well, anything regarding racism (I was gonna say Social Darwinism at first, but it seems he's influenced by about a bazillion ideologies) and silly right-wing propaganda. Just hope Norway can recover, and that he doesn't inspire any other wackjobs to try a bit of terrorism.

It's quite scary though. We had a terrorist attempt in Stockholm last year, but the jackass blew himself up by accident instead of, you know, other people. Enough is enough.

1)Political. The country going off trail, ect. Very conservative views

2)Targeting Muslims. Due to the spread of that religion.

If what I read in the newspaper can be trusted, it was the largest slaughter of civilians by any one person in modern times. Not entirely sure how you define "modern times," but I would assume since at least the 1900s, possibly even earlier.
