In terms of compatibilities with latest games, yes. And there only small differences between the old and latest CFW, except for having wide selection of homebrews/plugins and better support.

    Update:
Both versions has been updated, check the first post for more info/links.

Im A WEE bit confused dude, is this what i need for the psp go?
    Light/Live CFW 6.39 LME / 6.60 LME(#L-CFWME9)
    - Plug-in your USB
    - Extract all files, and put both launcher and installer folder into PSP/GAME
    - Go to XMB, and run the 639 installer
    - Press the X button to install the firmware, and your PSP will reboot after that
    - Back to XMB, now launch the 639 launcher
    - You will get black screen for a while, and after that, check your PSP System Settings, it should be on 6.39 L-CFW
    - Enjoy.

    Is this perm?

Sorry bout double post lappy playing up x

Yes, for 3000s and GO, you need to use L-CFW.

    and no, it's not permanent.

Duh, that's how it is, only 1000 and early 2000 can have permanent when using ME.

If you looking for permanent CFW on GO, then downgrade to 6.20, and use PRO.

Do I have to hook up my psp via usb to install custom firmware or can I just use a memory stick? I have a PSP 1001 with official firmware 6.20.

Yes, you need to hook it up in order to copy all the required files into the memory stick, then you can unplug it and install the CFW directly from your PSP.

    - After that, check your System Information, make sure it was 6.39 TN-A
    - Download 6.39 Official Firmware, extract, then rename the EBOOT.PBP to 639.PBP

    - Unplug your USB cable, then run the installer from the XMB(not the TN-A installer).
    - When you've done, check you System Information again, it should be 6.39 ME-9.2 or something.

Ok so I am about to do this for my psp. My question is once I install this is it easy to update to the 6.60 M.E.? Or should I just go straight to 6.60 M.E. and not do the 6.39 Firmware?

I have a PSP 1000 series with 6.20 Official Firmware.
