Thanks everyone for your advice & input. It looks likes I'm gonna have to try to do this hot swap HDD upgrade with Chimp. How do I find out what Xbox version I have?

Heres the best way that I found. Did it on my own and found that I have v1.0:

if you have the evox dashboard then it will tell you on the main screen.
