DC does have region locking but 1) it's easy to bypass and 2) doesn't matter for burned games as long as they are made self-booting.

Good thing there's no Cd-r protection, or region locking.
To all who mentioned the Dreamcast.
I love SEGA but where I live, the DC barely made a mark and nowadays you can't get it. Not even used. And no, if you're wondering, it'd be easier to jump off a bridge without a rope and survive than import used electronic goods here. I love greedy politics towards importation.

On that topic, dammit, SEGA, make a new console!

    *ehem* PS2, it is.
Oh, and, real time RPGs are fine too. It's just that I hardly know of any and they are 1 to 25 ratio against turn-based ones.
Thanks everyone who suggested thus far!

Oh, a question that's been bugging me a bit. Has Sony ever released or gave support to a 3rd party wireless controller for the PS2? Or maybe there's a way to get the Dualshock 3 to work wirelessly with the PS2?

    Spoiler warning:
I have to admit, the questions do sound stupid.

    Real time RPGs.
    Star Ocean.
Tales of Legenia/Abyss/ whatever other tale games.
And you still haven't told us what country you live in.

I'd say Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (both games) and Champions: Return to Arms for Action-RPG's (hack'n'slash)
Odin Sphere, Kingdom Hearts 1 + 2 and the .hack games for Real-time RPG's
And Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for Strategy (it's turn-based though)

And seconded on the Tales of... games

Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!

    No idea about the controllers.

I'll second everything kuro said except Kingdom Hearts.

    Argentina.
Not counting our politicians (and the laws they make for their profit) it's a nice place to live in.

Um, just one or two RPGs are fine.
    Spoiler warning:
And I'd prefer them not be made by Sqeenix nor Atlus.
The ones listed so far are enough, thanks

I'd recommend Zone of the Enders 1 and 2. It's an mecha action game and one of my personal favorites.

u should get one, even though i don have a ps2, i always play with my cousin using theirs during the new year. unless ur patience and save a little more, then you should get ps3. im more of the kind of dude that want new stuff. provided that ps3 games have better graphics. my eye cant take too much low pixel/low quality or watever it's call. even watching 360p anime makes my eye hurts.

If you are still looking for a good game, i would suggest "Dark Cloud 2" it is by far one of my favourite games. It is an RPG game with some really unique features. Enemies will drop certain material such as logs and other material, witch you then have to go and build city's with and make people happy. You may also take pictures of objects then combine them to make inventions, then use items to make them. It also has fishing contests and a golf type minigame. Anyways i think it is a good game and worth giving a try, if you are still looking for one.
    I aim to misbehave.

Glad I still have the 60 gig fat with a 320 gig hard drive. Best PS3 in my opinion.

No doubt, but unless you got one early well yeah...it's tough to find BC PS3s now. I settled on a 20gb model a couple years ago.

I would recommend soft modding your PS2 with Free MC Boot, it lets you play burned games that you downloaded on your system without doing any hardware mods. Its also better than swap disk because you don't have to swap a disk out. My fat PS2 is free MC boot modded, and works like a charm. I even setup a HDD loader that will play the games off an HDD, but its not compatible with some games. You need a network adapter to use the HDD loader function.

As for the PS3, there is no reason to pay Sony a premium just for a larger HDD, you can buy a 500GB HDD for your PS3 for around 60 dollars, which is more space than most people will ever use.

    Definitely, free mcboot is awesome.

I haven't even bothered changing HDDs in either of my ps3s because it's not an issue. I bought my 20gb ps3 model used and it had a larger HDD in it though.
