flashing today update first ?

i am getting my new 360 flashed today and need advice again.

this 360 is brand new should i go live and update everything before taking my 360 to be flashed?

will the flasher (craigslist) give me a copy of the drive key and original firmware or are these not needed .

is there anything i need to make sure to get or ask the flasher . i am a complete noob to flashed 360's and want to make sure i do everything right.

Update it to the latest dash through Live BEFORE flashing.

Make damn sure he gives you your original firmware backup/DVD key otherwise you can't get it back without taking it back to another modder.
