I think there's more of a danger these days because a lot of games would seem to take themselves so seriously, and I realize that being an old school gamer I'm not really comfortable with the emphasis on so much realism. It just seems like when I was growing up video games were fun and colorful, whilst now it's considered a kind of alternative lifestyle. It may seem funny for me to complain about that on a gaming forum, but recently I have been asking myself why the new crop of games don't really appeal to me, and I realized that's what it is. Games used to be a funny nephew I joked around with. Now he's grown up into some psychotic adult who thinks all the stories I told him were true.
