    Default Stream is evil

Im just wondering if you guys can help me out here

I just got a desktop and so my older brother got half life 2

after we installed it and stream, i tried to validate the game by using stream but the stream program kept saying that the retail standard of half life 2 needs to be installed before i can validate the game

im pretty sure i have a "retail standard" of the game and not just a pirate, i reinstalled half life 2 like 4 times and this message still comes up on stream. I even reinstalled stream, which doesnt work

so can you guys help me here? i feel like half life 2 has become officially impossible to play now

Gabe is using it on my head right now.

He didn't like how much I laughed at videos using him as the butt of a joke. :[

I ran into the same problem with Half Life 2 back when it came out. You can only activate it once, and that's it. After that, it's useless, even to you. I gave my copy to my brother, and he was never able to use it because there was no way to activate.

Not sure if it interests you, but Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast are both free games on Steam.

Yep. Once you validate it to one account, you can't install it on another account. I'm sure if you get in touch with Steam though, there's a way to take it off of one account and put it on another.
