My favorite game artwork would have to be the Japanese character designs for the first two Breath of Fire games. I recently came across the manual from the second one, and it's just beautiful. It has a bunch of full color, hand drawn reproductions of characters, enemies, artifacts, and weapons. It's like a miniature art book. I miss that kind of thing.

Seriously, I got curious because of the cover, played it and... it didn't really blew my mind but it certainly was a lot of fun.
