    Default [PSP Tutorial] How to Install the latest PRO Custom Firmware on your PSP : PRO-C2

    How to Install the latest PRO Custom Firmware on your PSP : PRO-C2

    The PRO Team has just released the latest update of PRO CFW, which is PRO-C2, that comes with several optimization, bug fixes and changes, and more importantly, it support 6.20/6.35/6.39 as well 6.60 firmware for all PSP models.

    ==================================================

    The Installation process is similar to the previous version, if you already on PRO, just run the UPDATER, but to be on the safe side,
    uninstall everything(perma first, then the CFW), and run the installation from scratch.

    For the POPSLoader support, it offer quite similar function like the POPSLoader for GEN/M33 CFW,
    which is to increase the game compatibilities for PSX games, when playing it on your PSP.
    But, for the PRO(as well on ME) version, you have up to 6.XX Pops support, which is another boost, I guess.

    So, Enjoy, and ask if you have any question.

    To simplify:
    - All PSP can use this CFW, however, which CFW you can use is depend on what firmware you have, as well the modules, especially for 3000.
    - PSP with 6.20 can have permanent CFW
    - 6.39/6.60 can have permanent CFW, but only restricted to 1g, and 2g modules
    - As for the 6.35 user, you can only have non-permanent CFW, for now
    - If your PSP is on 6.3x/6.6x firmware, and want to downgrade to 6.20, you can follow this guide, but like always, there always restrictions for that, read it for more info.
    - Finally, If you have any issues when using this CFW like bug or something, don't hesitate to report to PRO's Google Code page.

    ==================================================

    Note :
    Permanent Patch / 620PRO_Permanent
    - Only for 6.20 with PRO CFW installed, and can be used on any PSP models with the specified firmware.

    Custom IPL Flasher / CIPL_Flasher
    - Similar to Perma patch for 6.20 PRO
    - and ONLY available for FULLY HACKABLE PSP ( 1000, and 2000 non v3) with 6.39 and 6.60.

    ==================================================

    Installation Process - from OFW( #INSP )

    Before that...
    **I'LL NOT HOLD ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOUR PSP SOMEHOW GOT BRICKED, AS YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN,
    AND OF COURSE, WITH THAT YOU'RE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR IT!!**

    ** For previous PRO users, you can skip this section, and refer to the upgrading method below (#UPGM)
    ** but if you forgot or want to confirm something, then read on.
    ** AND make sure you use the right files for your firmware

    1. Download the required files from the link , make sure to download the correct version depends on your firmware
    2. Then extract all required files into your /PSP/GAME folder :
      - For 6.20, you should have 620PRO_Permanent, FastRecovery, and PROUPDATE files
      - For 6.35, you should have FastRecovery, and PROUPDATE files
      - For 6.39/6.60, you should have FastRecovery, CIPL_Flasher, and PROUPDATE files
      ** once again, do note CIPL_Flasher is ONLY for fully hackable PSP
    3. NOTE: ensure that your PSP is on OFW(check your System Settings), and have the required files in your specified folder (e.g for 6.20, must have the 6.20 PRO files)
    4. First, run the PRO Update from your XMB.
    5. Follow the instructions, Press X to install the CFW, and then X again to boot in CFW.
    6. Your PSP should now restarted into PRO-C2, check your System Information to confirm.
    7. That's all, Enjoy your new CFW.
    8. NOTE: This CFW is not permanent, so if you accidentally shut down, or closed your PSP, it will rebooted back to OFW, so you have to do all the previous steps again.

      ============= 6.20 Permanent Patch [ONLY FOR 6.20 USER] =============

    9. The next steps is only for 6.20 PRO-C2, where the Permanent Patch will be used to give the PERMANENT CFW. Which mean, you can shut down/close your PSP, but will still rebooted in PRO CFW mode.
    10. To install it, make sure the 620PRO_Permanent was placed in the GAME folder.
    11. NOTE: Before you start, go to System Information, and make sure the 6.20 PRO-C2 is still there, if not, do the previous process again.
    12. After that, run the Permanent Patch from your XMB.
    13. Then, Press X to install the patch, during the process a file will called vshorig.prx will be created and placed in your PSP root. Don't worry about this, it only will be used if your PSP 'somehow' get bricked. Continue on.
    14. Press X again to test whether the patch can be installed on your PSP, the screen will go black after a while and back to the XMB, check the System Information again, and make sure the 6.20 PRO-C2 is still there.
    15. Run the Permanent Patch again, then follow the instructions all the way back to where you was prompted to test the patch, right now, Press O.
    16. If all goes well, your PSP should be rebooted back to XMB with 6.20 PRO-C2 still exist in the System Information. Test whether your PSP is in permanent, by closing it, and remove the battery and memory card, then start your PSP.
    17. Finally, you can now enjoy the permanent CFW on 6.20 firmware!

      ============= CIPL Flasher [ONLY FOR 6.39/6.60 USER!! with 1000, 2000 non v3] =============

    18. This is quite similar to permanent patch for 6.20, but it only limited for 1g, and 2g models, with 6.39/6.60 PRO
    19. To install it, make sure the CIPL_Flasher was placed in the GAME folder.
    20. NOTE: Before you start, go to System Information, make sure the 6.39/6.60 PRO-C2 is still exist, redo previous steps if its not.
    21. Run the flasher from your XMB.
    22. The process quite self explanatory, just make sure to read the instructions carefully
    23. After that, you should have permanent 6.39/6.60-C2 on your PSP, Enjoy!

    ============= Upgrading to the latest PRO (#UPGM) =============

    So, you're already on PRO? and want to upgrade to the latest one? There are 2 ways :
    1. Quick upgrade method ( fast, but a bit RISKY )
      - Simply download the latest PRO release, and extract the files
      - Plug-in your PSP to PC, go to GAME folder, and delete existing/old PRO files( FastRecovery, PROUPDATE, 620PRO_Permanent )
      - Copy the latest PRO files( which you have extracted earlier) into that folder
      - Then, close all windows, unplug your PSP
      - On your XMB, go to GAME, and run the PROUPDATE
      - Follow the instructions, and BOOM! you have successfully upgraded.
      **** But, keep in mind, this is a bit risky, especially to those who are using permanent patch

    2. Uninstall & Reinstall method ( safer, and recommended )

      -[ For 6.20 with Permanent Patch]-
      - First, run the PRO Permanent Bootloader from the XMB
      - Press X to uninstall the patch
      - wait for a while, and your PSP should back to XMB
      - Then to remove the CFW completely, either by turning off your PSP, or choose Shutdown Device from the VSH menu, or (which is most safer) run the PROUPDATE and press the Triangle button.
      **** these process applied to 6.39 with CIPL flasher as well

      -[ For 6.35/6.39 ]-
      - Just run the PROUPDATE and press the Triangle button
      - or by turning off your PSP, or choose Shutdown Device from the VSH menu

      - after doing all the previous steps, check the System Settings, your PSP should be on OFW now
      - Then, reinstall your PSP to the recent PRO release! Refer to the installation process on the first section ( #INSP )

    Everyone, do this update NOAW! Not only did it fix Chrono, but it fixed Digimon World 3.
    If you want to play PSX games that you could not before, you need this update.

    Since PRO is open source, the SDK folder was included for other developers to use, just ignore it.
