Action replay codes on Backups?

I have codebreaker,and action replay but they both only work on retail discs. i have freemcboot 1.8 and no matter what i try i cant the any game or code to work on backup discs. Also, is it possible to turn an UK action replay code into a us code? it seems like Codejunkies uk get all the good codes and theres a code that i really want but the game is NTSC-U. would i have to use a PAL version of action replay in order to use the code?

do you have ESR installed, if so you can use the Codebreakers Elf (needs to be modded first though and only certain versions work)

Not sure of the location of my USB stick but I a copy on that pre patched of v10

code converting can be done but it's very complicated and not 100% you need codes for both regions and you need to decrypt both region codes first so you get the real numbers, first find the difference between each region for a code, e.g. HP say it's 1000 more for US codes, then take the code from the EU code list decrypt it then add 1000 to the address and re encrypt it to give you the US version

this does not always work as US and EU games don't always follow that rule and often have some things in a totally diff mem location e.g. HP might be 100 infront of XP points in memory for a US copy but in the UK copt it might be 110 infront of XP found this happens alot (done converting from US to UK more than vice versa)

i do have ESR but i dont have an actual codebreaker disc. sorry if i confused in the first post. i meant to say i have a codebreaker elf file on my memory card.

is it hacked correctly because it works for me perfectly with backups and originals

the guide I linked should help you though

FreeMCboot should first boot Codebreaker then load ESR, DVD with the flicky flashing colours you normally get from ESR, should happen with originals aswell

The video guide is trash though they missed out too much you need to setup MCboot correctly to boot Codebreaker instead of ESR, and Codebreaker should be patched to run ESR instead of reading the DVD drive, it is best to set MCboot to first boot Codebreaker from USB, and second to boot ESR from your memcard if it can't find Codebreaker from USB

ok thanks zorlon do you know of a guide i could use to make a uk action replay code into us?

also, is it possible to use pal codes on a ntsc-u action replay disc? and even after googling i couldn't find out if its possible to use a retail action replay disc on a backup disc. does anyone know?
