PsxFin v1.13 Loading slow and music!

Hello all, I never had this problem but for some reason when I'm loading Final Fantasy Tactics (moded) it loads it slow and the music also plays slowly. Idk whats going on, also the Sony icon loads really slow (like 7 secs to load). Can anyone tell me whats wrong or how I can fix this? thanks

If you haven't, try playing it on ePSXe, see if the same problem happen.

It works, but for some reason I never liked the ePSXe because the sound for certain games and stuff doesn't sound as smooth as the PSXFin v1.13 - sounds as close as the actual system itself (been using this emulator for a few years now) and never had a problem. I just tried other games on the PSXFin v1.13 and is also loading the game slowly (is like on slow mode or something.

Thanks for the link, though I have 1.6 and 1.7 (personally I don't like ePSXe just because the sound is not smooth and clear, but also because i can never run certain games on it).

The reason why some issues(graphic/sound) happen on ePSXe is because of plugins, which are separate from the emulator, and need to be configured manually for certain games,
unlike pSXfin, where it doesn't required any plugins, since most of the required settings has been implemented on it.

I can verify that aswell ePSXe will have perfect sound providing you use the correct plugins and config em

ePSXe still remains the best Playstation emulator out there for compat, sound and video

@meganova & Zorlon Thanks, now how do I configure ePSXe for Final Fantasy Tactics? Here is the problem I am having when playing this game on the ePSXe, when I scroll down on anything (menu,items,customization,etc...) not only do I hear the regular FFT sound click, but I also hear this other hard clicking sound in the background.

So is there a way to speed up the PsxFin v1.13 to load faster or back to normal?

Try reinstalling or extract the emu to a new folder to reset anything that may of been changed

You can also try running the games from a vitual cdrom drive [Daemon Tools Lite is a great free virtual CD/DVD drive (Lets you mount CD Images and acts like a real CD-Rom drive)] or directly from an CD Image

Sorry I recently lost my emu HDD and I am currently trying to get the drive working (It's been scanning/formating for over 30 hours now) have still lost all my files but I still need the drive back before I can get my files back

If it wasn't for that I would normally be willing to test and give you good settiings

You can try another sound plugin (you will need to download one) or it's more like it is a video plugin issue and the settings need to be tweeked

Have had a quick search and found

My config:
Emulator: Epsxe (works perfect in v152 & v160)
Video: The best choice is Pete Soft Driver (don't use the opengl for this one 'cause to see the in game map you need the framebuffer 2,0,4 what makes the game a lot slower)

Audio: Eternal Spu v.141
Vibration: the game don't have it.

ignore the Framebuffer note thats for use with openGL and that will cause it's own slow downs

ePSXe version notes had been taken before 1.7.0 was released, so I can't see why you can't use the latest version of ePSXe[/QUOTE]
