Holy fuck this is actually a good game.

Surprisingly, Canucks started Schneider in net instead of Luongo. He did very well, but made a couple of key mistakes -- one of them was an overzealous play where he retrieved the puck from behind the net, passed it to Raymond (I think...) and it banked off a charged Blackhawks' skate, deflected in front of the net into the waiting stick of Toews, who got pretty much an empty net goal.

Unfortunately, Schneider is not injured and Luongo is back in net. Schneider was taking on... someone... in a penalty shot, overextended and twisted his right knee, and had to be escorted off the ice by medical staff and one of his teammates because he had trouble standing. Hopefully he is okay -- we need a strong backup like Schneider.

The game is tied 3-3, going into the first overtime.

Also, can't help but laugh at some of the complainers. "They better give us $20,000 gift cards for putting up with 4 days of outage or else! Wah wah wah!"

I was plotting to prepare a healthy dosage of high calorie gaming snacks to cap off a marathon RB3 session (SO MANY STARS).

Once I have concluded preparation, I shall be up for one, the other, or both. But pipes and flutes totally seems to be the more accessible option.

Luongo is their star goaltender, he's (arguably) one of the best in the league. Schneider is their backup goaltender, although he is another great goaltender. Luongo signed an almost unheard of 12 year extension on his contract for $64 million, and the general theory around town here has been "he isn't worth it, 'cause he cracks under pressure." Luongo was the goaltender who played for Team Canada in the 2010 Winter Olympics and helped win us the gold medal against the US.

Playoff series are best of 7 games. The first team to win 4 games wins the series and progresses. Canucks have won 3, Blackhawks have won 2, and they are in sudden-death overtime in Game 6. If the Canucks win tonight, Blackhawks are out. If the Blackhawks win, then Game 7 comes back to Vancouver in two nights for one final game.
