Being hit would regenerate health, walking through certain required areas would cause you to lose powerups.

The ultimate goal is to hit the start point with no upgrades, and full HP.

The harder difficulties would start you out with "more health", meaning that you can take fewer hits before hitting the start. You also "start" further from the start point in the level. The strategy would be that you have to take enough hits to fill the health bar, but you have to set things out so that you don't take too many hits before the start point. You have to make the choice of saving for a difficult section, or taking a lot of hits now and avoiding them later. There'd be various insta kill traps you'd have to avoid as well.

I have the weirdest thought processes.

Argh, I haven't even seen a video of it yet. And to think that the MegaDrive Hard Corps is one of my favorite sidescrollers ever. I should be ashamed of myself.

OtherOS should have been Windows XP, that would have been far more useful than Linux .

Tell that to the Windows malware infestation.

    Windows XP:

    Affected By 342 Secunia advisories
    424 Vulnerabilities

    OtherOS(FreeBSD)

    http://secunia.com/advisories/product/32931/

    Affected By 2 Secunia advisories
    3 Vulnerabilities

Try to list all the malware that affects Windows in a short list:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_malware#Threats

Most of that malware has been made obsolete by update patches.

Linux has Wine and you can run virtual machines on it. Why would you want a virus infested PS3?

    edit

Also, it has to be a 64bit OS and Windows XP 64bit is Skaka when the walls fell. Good luck finding or developing Windows XP 64bit drivers.

Linux has less viruses/malware because less people use it. The same goes for Mac OS. Virus makers want to ensnare as many people as possible so they go after what the majority of people use, which is Windows. If other operating systems had more market share you'd see more viruses targeting them, and being open source, Linux is actually MORE vulnerable to exploits than a closed source OS like Windows.

I was joking about it . My PS3 hard drive is too small to use Linux and have games.

First the malware has to have root and it doesn't. Even if it manages to get root somehow it has to get past AppArmor.

    What?

    Mac OS X

    http://secunia.com/advisories/product/96/

    Affected By 152 Secunia advisories
    1505 Vulnerabilities

Mac is a joke and only clowns use it.

Indeed Cosmic, that is the only reason its being ignored, they want to steal information from people who actually have money
