Okay, ive read the system requirements for PCSX2, and well.....yeah.
I have a desktop with an AMD 64 cpu (not sure on the ghz), and an ATI Radeon X200 GPU.
Would it even be worth a try?

No.
PS2s are dirt cheap on ebay, you comp won't run it.
haha i didnt figure it would, and buying one wouldnt be a problem, except i have no money, and probably wont for a while. (also i cant afford games :\)
why not try? what do you loose? just make sure to download version 0.9.7 because it has better speed hacks
i might later, the desktop is occupied atm.....
well, softmod is still not the best solution since it has compatibility problems... but w/e
i know the gameshark disk trick too, which would be better?
FMCB, OPL? acronyms arent my strong point :\
FMCB = FreeMCBoot. Memory Card exploit. You need a fat console. You also need uLaunchElf to launch these games, and you have to patch every disc individually
OPL = Open Playstation Loader. Same as above, this one is pretty unknown, but it has a better compatibility rate than FMCB/uLE.
gameshark was only used in some really old modchips, matrix infinity and it's clones (modbo 750, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0) are way more advanced (in fact, all these clones use the infinity firmware), have direct boot of any media (PSX, PS2 CD, PS2 DVD, DVD movie) without patching.
In regards to the FMCB you dont need a fat one it runs on every type of console up till 9XXXX i believe last time i checked, ive not heard of OPL what do i need for that one?

Bennieboi's Question Of The Day (now defunct)
i have freemcboot and have never run into a single issue with any game iv played (digimon, final fantasy, rouge galaxy, kingdom hearts, disgaea, phantom brave, soul nomad, etc as the list goes on (currently have a back up of every game i own (54 of them) and they all work)))
freemcboot works on all systems, has a easy GUI patcher, and can be installed pretty easy. if you cant install it on yours, there are installers who do it for you, for free. all they ask is that you pay for return postage, send it to them, they put it on your memory card, then send it back. easy as that. modchips are too buggy, and yes i have had ALOT of issues with my modchip systems. opl i have heard of, and it does run some games smoother but i still prefer ESR.
yeah i agree with the poster above the problem i had was that someone was kind enough to install it for me but it ended up getting damaged in the post and i havent been able to replace it since lol i will certinally get it done soon though
