i am looking to mod the new 360 (the black slim one that was kinnect ready)

i want to softmod it so that i can do more things in the gta4 games and other games, i dont know where to start or what might happen if i try this. i did have the original white one but my dad gave it to my step brother because they both felt i didnt deserve it when my dad used my money to buy it but that is a different story. i just see people doing cool things on gta4 alot and a friend of mine in canada wants me to have more games that we can play together. any ideas?
