Default maybe its been suggested but...

having recenty discovered the amazing world of torrents,i was wondering why not just use torrents instead of ftp's or resorting to megaupload, which i think is a pain in the ass to use.i would imagine that would save a crap ton of bandwidth and money, and its easy to use.i think the users could adopt it very quickly.just thought id put it out there

Goes to show that the FTP/Megaupload links are more popular on EP, I suppose (I know I've never used the tracker because I prefer the other methods.)

Point is that he wanted (or wanted to know of) an EP torrent site, no? That's what we have.

Maybe. Or maybe it's time for a news post reminding people about it?

Still gotta get everyone to continue to seed their uploads, which is the biggest pain in the butt sometimes. And imagine all of the questions we would be getting about "how 2 use dem torntz i dunj dunderstandz"...

That's quite possibly the main reason more people don't use torrents & trackers is because they get intimidated by it, thinking it's some crazy internet witchcraft or something.
When I want your opinion, I will diffuse it from you through osmosis!

I made a torrent FAQ, but it's soooo 2005 *looks* Also all the images in it look like they died with the rollback
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Update it, then show it to our slower members, and if they get it, we're good.

Just because there is a FAQ doesn't mean that it will actually be read. If new users can overlook entire sections, and if Milady has another aneurysm from people who don't read stickies, then something tells me it will easily be overlooked as well.

Still would be a good idea to update it, though.

The main problem with torrents is dead torrents.

It's very easy for a torrent to die, but if you do it properly, http links don't die for years.

Also, megaupload and the like, are usually faster without an outrageous number of seeds.

Only with an account, otherwise it's terribly slow.
