XBOX 360 modification help

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good way to mod my 360 to play burnt games or point me in the direction of a good tutorial. I know there are several different ways to do it. I was hoping someone could explain the differences and point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Let's say that I do indeed flash my drive properly (i haven't tried it yet) I still need to find a way to make proper backups of my games. Are there any good guides for that? A lot of the stuff you find online is just a big mess of contradicting information.
