help with the final fantasy games on epsxe 1.7

i have epsxe 1.7 downloaded with all the plugins and bios. I can play other games with no problem, but when i download and extract final fantasy files, they don't appear in the "open iso" menu

What are the file extensions of the files you are trying to run? if they are compressed they won't run in the emulator. If it's an ECM file, use ECM Tools to extract it.

they would be .rar or .zip, then I would extract them and they would be ecm. What kind of ecm tools can i use?

i downloaded the ecm tools, how do I use them

Drag and drop the "*game*.ecm" file into 'unecm.exe', it should extract the game in a format readable by epsxe.

thanks, I got the games working now, but there's one problem......when I enter battle, the command screen is black and I can't see what I'm choosing

Try increasing the offscreen drawing to 3 in your video plugin config settings.
