am i making an iso properly?

i dl'd some games,and several of them came in parts of equal sizes of a compressed file.but only one has any data in it.i unzipped the one with the image and made disc of it,then ripped the disk onto my hard drive as an iso.but in say crazy taxi's case,it doesnt make it past the sega screen.did i go about this right?am i supposed to do anything with the other compressed files?

Extracting an iso file is easier than that, have a look at this thread:

It would also help to know if you are playing the game in a modded console or an emulator cos the problem itself may be an emulation issue due to the game not being emulated yet or your computer not being powerful enough to do PS2 emulation. For more info check this:
