First Interview.... sees the couch
Hello, i am the casting Couch. you have probably seen me in locations that you can ether not tell anyone, or places you wish you never visited if you know what i mean
If you look around (on ebay or similar) you can buy the official 250GB HDD for less than $130 (I assume you are stating US currency).
Last time I looked, I found some for less than $70au with free postage.
I ended up buying the 250GB slim console, but I was thinking about the 4GB and then getting the HDD separately.
Spoiler warning:
canadian currency, and i checked ebay but they were all average price

I'd have thought a hard drive would be universal anyway. If we've started region locking peripherals and accessories this shit has REALLY got out of hand.
some periferals are region locked (and the hd is fro australia i think)

The HDD is in Hong Kong, he ships worldwide.
Did you even look at the page I linked to properly? lol
I've never read anything anywhere saying those HDD's are region locked.........it's just a specific HDD formatted to be used in the Xbox360 with a special caddy. And afaik the older x360 HDD's weren't region locked either.
It's the console board itself that has the region lock afaik........that's why you need a jtag to get around the region business.
But maybe Inferno could enlighten us further
Spoiler warning:
well that is good info to know they arent locked, but im also paranoid of ordering electronic stuff from china... i dont even order electronic accessories from deal extreme and they have some controllers at like $5

I order stuff from Hong Kong all the time dude.......never had any issues and they usually include a little thank you note for the business.
Their prices blow everybody else out of the water usually, and I always go for the free postage deals.
As long as they've had heaps of customers and actually converse in understandable English there shouldn't be a problem.
It's just like dealing with any other high volume sellers........just ask questions and use your head.
If you don't like buying stuff online then don't do it.
I'm very careful about any online dealings I have, don't use online banking, I use somebody else's paypal and ebay account.........but I've never had any issues dealing with high volume Hong Kong sellers.
USA and Euro sellers are a different story, in my experience.
But at the end of the day it's your choice........I showed you how you can get what you want cheap
Spoiler warning:
No 360 peripherals are region locked.
