It's not where you are, but where you've been that matters

There's some speedhacks you can use in the pcsx2 menu, but I wouldn't expect miracles. Pcsx2 is for the most part a more cpu intensive program. You can get away with a mid level graphics card as long as you have good memory and cpu running. If not you can try overclocking a bit, but make sure you have good enough cooling to do so.

First of all, you must use GSDX plugin.
And then set it like this

Please note that the game will have reduced quality. If quality bothers you, you may try to increase the resolution, until it is bearable to you.

    256 is the lowest possible.

so it would be possible to set it at somewhere inbetween to get a better average setting? the game isnt slow often and when it is its not that much of a problem, and its only slow for a couple seconds, so would lowering it a couple hundred be better than all the way down to 256?

You could try that, like i said, 256 is the lowest possible, so all you have to do is check for the one that suits your preference.

i think so, although, when changing the numbers from 1024 i get an after image thats somewhat annoying, the slowness being less persistent and less annoying is what i prefer to stick with
