Yup. She's all yours if you still want it, I'll just have to format the drive. Unless you want copious amounts of porn.

There's only 2 years between me and my brother, so we never had problems like that. This will sound corny as hell, but aside from being family and all that, he's genuinely my absolute best friend.
My brother and I are a year and a half apart. When we were growing up, we hated each other -- mainly because we have two completely different personalities. Once he moved out, though, we became friends. Not really "close friends," but we hand out occasionally. Mostly to watch hockey games, or to play video games, or something along those lines. I see him maybe once a month. Less, now that he has a kid.

There's a reason for that. Apparently they've done studies, and most people "tune out" commercials. Or, they use the commercials to go and use the washrooms, or run into the kitchen to grab a drink, or something like that. Therefore, they make the commercials louder so that they can be heard at a greater distance.

It's still annoying as fuck, though.

    Also, floor.

No rocks though. Unless a poorly positioned tend/sleeping bag count.
Beyond the random extra 20 minutes or so trying to fall asleep, I have never had any type of insomnia. I can fall asleep pretty much any time I intend to, and occasionally when I don't.

I've fallen asleep sitting outside the mall entrance, waiting for some friends to show up.

Also on my laptop at the kitchen table. As in my laptop, opened up while watching a video, was my pillow.

Also a park bench. Apparently I looked like a hobo, 'cause someone left me some money.

    School desks are so comfy!

I've also fallen asleep while driving. That was scary.

    Never a rock, though. Hmm.

10 years older, 6 years older, 4 years younger. Friends with all of them, only really good friends with the one 4 years younger. Of course, between her social life, her job, attending school, her boyfriend and the fact that she's moving off somewhere in a couple months I might only see her once every couple years from here on out. That could very easily change things.

Well it managed to do one thing. I seriously decreased my TV viewage.

Don't sleep for a while, lean against wall.

    Sleep standing up!

Stop trying so hard to fall asleep. You'll fall asleep.

That must be true. I always fall asleep when I don't want to, but can't sleep when I know I should. Hmm...

    Tried it.

It just results in me forgetting that I should be sleeping in the first case.

I'm sure the insomniacs will respond with some psychosomatic explanation about the intrinsic properties of insomnia, but ultimately it's in their heads.

Do or do not... there is no try.

No you're right. Most of the time when I can't fall asleep it's because I can't stop thinking.

I've had that happen too. I just think of a plain white wall and focus on how it's completely empty. Or I'll think of something mundane like a stack of printer paper.

OH DAMN! We hsve a Starfleet smiley!

    um...sorry

Yeah, I'll usually try something like that too, or just focus on my breathing or something. Doesn't always work though, unfortunately.

Hehe, I figured you were the one who added that.

Finally getting around to converting X4. Just gotta finish a couple more, then clean up them up, and I should be good to upload them tonight. And start MM9 and 10 tomorrow.

Provided that I don't get distracted.

Nope, I just noticed it was there while I was making that post about sleeping
