Do you know of any good free programs like Xpadder that emulate keyboard and mouse actions on a controller? I'll buy Xpadder if I must, but it would be great to have that capability for free. I'm so cheap!
=OSame. I even use it for minecraft.

will a wireless xbox 360 controller with a plug and play adapter work as a pc controller? If so, how do i make this happen?

Thats one of the main reasons i use joy2key, so far i haven't seen even one game that doesn't work with joy2key.
Now about the PC controllers, one of the PC controllers i own that i have no complains about is this one:
The Thrustmaster Dual Trigger 3 in 1 Rumble Force, i use this for most my gaming activities.
I've used several Saitek controllers in the past, they all did okay but have given up the ghost since then. I had an Xbox/PS2/Gamecube controller adaptor that I used for a bit, but it _melted_, and I decided to try something else. Got a pair of cheapo controllers out of wal-mart, and they're workable, but I don't like them at all. I currently have the two cheapo controllers, and I've gotten an adaptor to run a wii classic controller to a usb port. It works decent, but the cord is pathetically short. I end up with the connector for the classic controller plug slung over my knee when playing, cause otherwise it hangs and throws me off. It does work though, and isn't that bad. I'd use the ps3 controllers, but the last time I checked the only drivers I could find said they interfered with some of the programs I had. Now I wish I'd just caved and bought a wired 360 controller.
So far, the best control pad I've used came in the form of a wired X-Box 360 pad. It has no flaws. Not even the fact that you have to install drivers for it. I've also used some USB adapter (I forgot it's name, I know I bought it from Radioshack, and it was black and blue) for the PS2 control pad, which was also very good.
