    G Neuer
    D Lahm, Hummels, Boateng, Jansen
MF: Schürrle, Basti, Kroos (mainly for terrible Kroos control, Kroos missle jokes etc...but also because he's a good player and I don't like Özil's mental make-up among other things)
    Wing: Müller, Götze
    Striker: Gómez

Key Reserves: Reus, Podolski and Özil all offer different attacking options and could be needed. Khedira offers a good MF option when protecting a lead. Defense I would really never change unless there were card or injury issues.

CLOSE! Except for you know, we aren't playing a striker. Khedira is probably necessary with the way we've been defending lately. I think the defender spot I missed was totally up for grabs.

If this ends up happening I really like that Reus made it in a starting role.

    LA DÉCIMA!

Man, what a night! Minor heart attacks and new grey hairs aside, happiness is immense
Atlético tried to get it the same way they've been successful this season, through the strategy and a solid defense but fortunately it wasn't enough this time around. After 3 years in a row blocked in the semis, we finally made it. People like Ramos, Pepe, Cristiano or Benzema were signed years ago to win the CL, they all can be satisfied with what they've done and breathe a sigh or relief All the Madrid players deserved it.
    Definitely, a night to remember

Also congratulations to Luka Modrić my compatriot, great player and great person! And I'm not forgetting Ivan Rakitić who just won Europa League recently. Two Croats; Luka Modrić and Ivan Rakitić, two trophies; Champions League and Europa League, two Croats at the top of the european football. Amazing overture for upcoming World Cup. We're counting on you guys!

Luka is a fantastic player, love him lots. Chances are that Rakitic will sign for Madrid next season. Or so the rumours say... Would be great to have both of them here

It was the right decision btw.

Anyway, some decent friendlies today judging by the teams playing and the final scores. Didn't really get to watch any. I'll make up for it by overdosing on footy tomorrow.

As I said on Facebook, I'd welcome it being taken away from Qatar for any reason. The climate means they'll almost certainly have to move the tournament from its usual summer fixture, the country is using borderline slave labour to construct its new facilities, and LGBT fans are unlikely to even be allowed into the country as things stand (on that note, I'm not keen on Russia hosting it in 2018 either. lol@football trying to take a stand against homophobia when LGBT fans have effectively been banned from attending the World Cup for two tournaments running). I'm not normally one to get up in arms about this stuff, but the fact that it was even given to Qatar to begin with is utterly farcical in every way, and I genuinely hope that these allegations end up being completely true.

Also kind of hoping that Japan would win the revote, as it's quite possible that I'll be there in 2022. Though it's unlikely given that the US and South Korea both finished ahead of them in the voting. I guess South Korea would be close enough to visit~!

Yeah I mentioned in the hangout that it needs to be taken away from Qatar now. Not because of the bribing, though that is wrong, but for basic human rights issues which is really sad.

So, I probably should've said something about the FAC Final while I was still happy about Arsenal. Why did we suddenly stop collecting central attacking midfielders!?

Oh, and a very belated congrats, Cookies.

    Michael Ballack, he scores free-kicks.
He's got black hair, and he's german.
    Michael Ballack, trains in paddocks.

It was also the first title in 9 years. I'm sure Arsene is still celebrating it

    Maxi Rodriguez ‏@FutbolIntellect 4m

Manchester United > LA Galaxy > NYRB > Arsenal.

    Maxi Rodriguez ‏@FutbolIntellect 3m

That was Arsenal's only chance at a trophy this year...

    HIGH FIVE AMERICA!
