Just feel like tossing this out there, amidst all the football discussions:

LA might win the Cup tonight.
If they do... my prediction for this series will only have been off by one game.
If they don't... it'll make for a very intense Game 7.

How many more smilies can I fit in here....?

    ShevaShevaShevaShevaSheva...

Joked before the game to my younger brother that it would be cute if Ukraine could win on their opening day via a Shevchenko goal. Didn't think it'd come true. If he retires after this tournament, it's a fitting end to the career of a gentleman and one of the best strikers of a generation.

Though it would be even better if he scored one or two more in their remaining two group games and wound up top goalscorer.

Sheva vs Ibra. What a duel of superb strikers :O

Sheva, Van Nistelrooy, Raul... they all living legends are, he deserved to have a great performance like this in the Euro. Too bad it had to be against the sweet Sweden :/

Could not have written that script for Shevchenko etc...

Probably would have retired if Ukraine didn't get this Euro.

I liked Germany a lot today. Super Mario included. And Özil the most of all.
Dutchies are almost out, it's sad to see one of the best teams go so early but they did the same mistakes once again. For some reason Van Marwijk thinks that playing against Germany and Denmark requires the exact same starting team, as if both had the same strengths and weaknesses... I'm sure that if Van Bommel weren't his son-in-law he would on holiday already.

The previous match was fun too, Portugal should drop their anxiety already, they are more than capable to win matches without Cristiano being decisive. His season here was anything but great, but Coentrao is starting to look more like the player Madrid bought at a high price.

When things are done right, everything shines more, it wasn't that hard to do it. Silva was splendid today.

We learnt the lesson and now Italy is at risk. An eventual tie between Spain and Croatia would mean they are out... but I want to think both teams will be honest.

A dark part of me wants to see Croatia and Italy win next match day.

But honestly I'd love to see Germany vs Spain again and slay the dragon so to speak.

Not that the results made me too happy today, (I'd rather see France out instead of Sweden. Sorry Elmy ) but Sweden vs England was the best match we've watched so far, it was disputed and vibrant. Walcott deserves more minutes, I fail to see why someone like him plays so little. With Barry injured, Gerrard (in a more advanced position), Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott would always be part of my starting team.

And I'm starting to doubt if Benzema will score any goal, but chances are that he may become the top assistant of the Euro. He can't do everything!

Yeah, I'm amazed that Milner is preferred to Walcott personally. He's a decent player, but I've never rated him that highly, whereas Walcott is one of the few players in England's current crop of players who has the ability to really get at the opposition and create something out of nothing. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Anyway, sorry to see Sweden eliminated so early Elmdor. Thanks to Henrik Larsson they've been one of my adopted nations since I was quite young, and I was hoping they could fell England and sneak out of the group. At least they gave us a great game last night~

I was just talking with an English friend the other day about how Walcott should be starting.
