EPSXE crashes pc with some games

For 2 games at the moment, WWF Smackdown2 and Final Fantasy VIII

when i try to exit to the desktop everything is at the lowest resolution and color quality

this is the error box that shows

"Windows - Display Driver Stopped Responding


The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft"

any other way to get around this id rather use EPSXE (i dont really like using the PSX emu)

Update DirectX:

And update your graphics card drivers
