i have full sound with everything else. i dont have sound with firefox or firefox flash embedded websites.

I have a already reinstalled firefox and flash. I have run k-lite sound fixes. Didnt work.

But I DO have sound in firefox with flash through my headphones. Which would suggest to me there is a connection issue when i unplugged the headphones and the drivers are stuck. or the drivers for my headphones are interfering with firefox flash sound drivers.

So what do I do now?

    What's your OS?

If it were a problem with the unplugging, it would apply to other apps as well.

I'm pretty sure you don't have separate drivers for USB headphones, unless you installed some. But, I wouldn't know, just assuming.

EDIT: You need to stop going away right after posting, Mr. D.

Uhh, no Tayls, it's going to be an issue with FireFox if everything is working perfectly in IE

    Backup your bookmarks

Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > File > Export

Save them on the desktop or whatever Then uninstall FF. Now go to either "C:\Documents and Settings\*ACCOUNT*\Application Data\" for windows XP, or C:\Users\*ACCOUNT*\AppData\Roaming for Vista. Delete the folder called Mozilla and then reinstall FF.

he said he already tried reinstalling FireFox

and yes; USB sound devices DO require there own drivers even if it is plug'n'pray
I have a USB modded xbox controller. the expansion ports are actually usb ports too. u can use the Xbox LIVE headset as a PC headset by pluging it into the controller while the controller is plugged into the PC (controller acts as a USB hub)
and that headset screwed with my soundcard too.(only not just in FF)

there should be an option in the firefox media/flash settings to choose what device to output sound to...not sure where tho
you may have to use about:config to get to that. It may even be determined by the system registry. dumb OS and start from scratch IMO (least that's what i'd do; i can have windows dumped reinstalled and backup to full working status in under an hour on my system)

    what soundcard do u use?

That doesn't delete the the mozilla folder containing the old settings, plug-ins, etc. etc. so his old settings and crap carried over

It won't be sound card related if it works perfectly in IE

May sound silly, but try opening the Volume Mixer Window. In there I have seperate controls for Winamp, Windows Live Messenger and shit, so mebbe its muted that way?
