Default Firefox does not CTRL+Click for opening tabs. :|

It was working the other day, but now if I try to use it to open a tab, all it does is open the page I want to on the current window. Does anyone know how to change this back? It's driving me nuts.

I always just clicked down on the scroll wheel to open new tabs.

I suppose I could try to get used to that....

NO I STILL HATE IT GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

I'm just so used to my old method. To be more specific on this problem, it'll ctrl+click open tabs when I click the home page icon or my bookmarks toolbar links. The only time it doesn't work is on webpage links.

EDIT: I also have the Linkification addon, in case that sheds some light on this.

Dude, listen. Check out the options of Firefox and see if the settings have changed. My Tabbed browser preferences and settings are always RESET when I install an update to firefox, so everytime I update, I have to go back to it, and reset it according to my preferences, like new tabs when opened should displace browser homepage, which is Google

Am just guessing here, but may be you just updated your Firefox and your settings got reset. Check out the tabbed browsing options and set it according to your needs

I know it isn't a fix, have you tried double clicking on the tab bar?

Your best bet if you can't figure out what has changed is to go to C:\Documents and Settings\ACCOUNT NAME GOES HERE\Application Data\ and copy the mozilla folder to the desktop. Uninstall/reinstall FF and and copy the folder back before reopening FF.

If you don't see Application data, go to tools > folder options > view > and check "show hidden files and folders"

WTF that didn't work either. This is driving me insane. Not even a system restore worked. What the hell...

Have you followed Panda's advice? If it still doesn't work, copy your profile somewhere as backup. Delete the one in Application data. Start Firefox and redo your preferences/re-install your extensions. Later you can import your bookmarks from your backup.

Quiet smartass, it's a fucking hassle. I keep scrolling up or down when I do that. I just want my old left clicking back. It was so easy to use.
