Bitchen! I didn't even know they were doing a patch, awesome. But how do I make the patch work? Sorry, I really haven't done much of the patching, I figure this has something to do with IPS.

I downloaded it here, took a while (hour and a half), and I patched it, seems to work just fine.

well,I tested it and it works great, and I'm happy about finally having the ps1 version translated (and it's supposed to be an accurate translation,as opposed to the "spiced up" one from dejap),but, besides this game,I'm happy
for the precedent this sets, because this opens the door to think "ps1 translation patches are possible",now thinking about a translation of a big game like persona 2 innocent sin or another jap-only game,is not just a dream,is something possible.

oh,almost forgot, the patcher crashed on my win98 installation (my default one, what I use every day),and I had to reboot to another partition with a 2k installation in order to use it. maybe the patcher is for NT operating systems only and doesn't like DOS based windows?.
    nothing

Yeah, but as a game gets older, the less chance of that happening is (unless a sequel comes out then it gets a larger fanbase/revival.), like Fire Emblem, but the a lot of them will probably never be fully translated.

Does this actually save correctly on a real PSX? None of the previous translations for other games have worked right on the real console

Do you know how many Persona fanboys Persona 3 just made over the past few months? Certainly lots of projects will never see the light of day, but this will draw far more attention to actually translating large PSX games, compared to the handful of niche titles we've gotten so far.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Since it was mentioned, Persona 2: Innocent Sin is also being translated:

Hopefully someday the project will be completed.

I hope they complete the innocent sin patch, and I really hope they ignore the idiots that want a localization instead of a faithful translation, the localization of persona 1 is known to suck, and the people that like the persona series usually like anime, know what kun, chan and sempai mean, and don't mind something being "too japanese". asking for a localization/americanization that removes the "japanism" as much as possible is totally against the point of the translation.
(I didn't read the whole thread, but there seem to be people against a faithful translation of innocent sin because "it's too japanese". well,a good point would be 'if you don't like something, don't play it or watch it or read it or listen to it,but don't ruin it for the intented audience changing it to suit your taste')
    nothing
