    Default FFVIII FMV lag

Whenever FFVIII plays an FMV, it starts freezes for a split second every now and then. Nothing to stop me from playing the game but it does take away a bit of the experience. This has also happened with FF9, but only when the credits started rolling. Can anyone help me?

Also do this if you're using ePSxe.

Start ePSXe > Config > Video > Configure > Copy settings to clipboard > paste settings to your next reply.

Set it to 60 or 50, whether it's NTSC or PAL. And since you're using 1.5.2, go into the special fixes and enable the odd/even bit hack.

Woo! Thank you so much! Man, can't believe something as simple as the fps limit can screw so much up.

Default entering random battle screen lag

heh, sorry, another problem. Whenever I get into a random battle, the emulator slows to a crawl and goes back to normal once the background and monsters appear. Sorry for more trouble, help would be appreciated.

There's a fix for this. The slow down is because there's a swirl effect. I'll check around and edit this post with the info in a few. Wait up...

Mess around with the framebuffer emulation settings until it displays properly and runs at a decent speed. Mind you, the latter might not be possible, depending on the power of your videocard, in which case you'd be better off disabling framebuffer emulation instead.
